About I first go at taken photographs of a swan,i creped up to within 14 feet of the nest this bird was not near any public and i had a ranger with me this was as far as i could go as i did not want to disturb the nest also the male swan was looking on and started to approach me they can be quite vicious if they attack so i was not there that long before i had to bale out.

Andy,

This is great - well done for getting so close without disturbing them. Lovely capture of the cygnet safe under his mother. These are beautiful birds, I'm currently waiting eagerly for a nest of them down the road to hatch, although whether I'll get such a great shot of them remains to be seen :)
