About Night 2 of flash painting. Tonight I chose this old stage coach outside a trading post in Grants. A bit more difficult because of the city lights including a bright street light off to the left.

For the interior white light, I placed a Coleman camping light inside the stage coach. I hit the side of the stage with a blue filtered flash and the back with a red filtered flash. The red mixed with the street lamp glow to cause more of an orange cast.

No PS except to take out a billboard behind it, crop and remove hot pixels. NO color adjustments.

Because of all the city light, I had to work fast. This is a 25 second exposure at ISO 100, f10.

Thank you, Brigitte... appreciate your support.

As for the snake body armor... nahhhh, simply shorts and Birkenstock sandals... I like living on the edge. :)

No, a circular polarizer shouldn't shift color at all.

Speaking of which, I saw a hand-held meter in Photo PRO today...it gives a reading of ambient temperature. Exactly what you could use day OR night!

I've never thought of that, Paul. Makes sense. Do you think it will alter the colors at all? You can bet I'll try that!

Thanks,
Dave

Oh HELL! You're right...even stronger.
It was such a low-key thumbnail, I blew right past it.

Another valuable resource in moments like this:
Polarizer. Think about how much more time you can buy after screwing on a filter at night.

Wowieeeeeeeee Dave! I think it's my favorite so far, but it may be a tie with the Cafe photo! Although it's colored effect is not as saturated (probably due to the street light), I have to admit it looks quite natural with a brilliance to it! It is like a masterpiece. I like your choice in this subject and the composition. 7+++

Every time I see one of these shots, I find myself scanning the scene for "snakes"... because I know what the southwest deserts are like. I hope you wear some snake-proof leg armor, just in case.

Me encanta así sencillamente... como para hacer un cuadro, lo pondría bien iluminado en un rincón del living!
Felicitaciones!!!

Thank you, John. Yes, it is a shame that the trading post has let this thing fall apart. But then that does give it some character at the moment.
