No, I am your 1st period teacher. Which really upsets me since I am up too late to have to get up that early in the morning. What I won't do for a blond.

It is beautiful sunny weather here these last couple of days Dave, and so I just finally got caught up on comments and have been up-loading images from my camera ...so I have not looked at that contest YET. I realize I am in trouble now :((
I thought after work I wouldn't have that rushed feeling because it's almost time to get going to work..I will look at it , because I want to but not yet, not until I can devote time w/out being interrupted as I have been today with many house chores & stuff.....
Thank YOu for the info I will get with it ..I just wish someone could 'show' me ... Oh well I will figure it out soon enough I guess...All good things take time ...

Take Care, You are my second period teacher right ?

Dave Arnold Dave Arnold   {K:55680} 8/10/2007
whoops, that reply went on the wrong photo.

anyway, responding to this, I can't clarify nothing since I'm not the assignee. That would be your 4th period teacher. (did you go look at that contest?)

Just remember this if you do the white balance bracketing. It is going to cut down on the number of images you get on your car because every photo you take will be saved three times. So if you are out and limited to space, you won't want to take every shot using the balance.

For me, with 6 gigs of cards plus usually my laptop with me, that is usually not a problem.

Thank YOU Dave - and thank you for clairying the assignment as I thought it had to be windows ..

I was not clear on that part
( obviously)))
I appreciate your time and input and always want constructive critism ...I agree about the lamp post too ...

With much appreciation,
Michele~

Ha!!! You are a strict 'Teacher'... You are right too I did not put the camera settings down for a few images, and that is a bad habbit ....-

I do like your thought about the silhouette of a person gazing out tho...and will post my camera settings in the future- -

Regards,
Michele~

PS:

Here's a contest that was recently run on another photo site, with the subject being framing. Take a look at the top 100 or so photos and you'll see what I mean.

Granted, this is an open voting and a lot of these people vote high on the worst of pics, but you'll get a good idea of what I mean by thinking outside the box.

Dave Arnold Dave Arnold   {K:55680} 8/10/2007
Okay, young lady, if you want me to use constructive criticism, I can do that. I like the window. Arched windows are always interesting.

Three things.

1) I would have PSd out the sink, somewhat easy, a lot of it just needs to be painted black, the rest you would have had to do some fancy cloning.

2) Angle of the photo. I would have moved slightly to your right so as to miss the yard lamp and just show the trees.

3) Think outside the box. The assignment of "framed" doesn't mean it has to be all window frames. Be creative. Frame with branches, doors, gates, walls, etc.

Now whoa, wait a minute here. We went Framed series 1 and 3 and then all of a sudden a window series 2? I'm so confused. I'm lighting a cigarette as soon as I put this one out.

I'm going to have a talk with your 4th period teacher, too.

Really, good eye, imaginative, wonderfully realized, m'dear.

Great shot Michele, always I like the way of the USE of something like a window or a gate or anything that naturaly can 'frame' something else, and here you did a great 'use' of that element, great result!!!
