:))) I see the *other* face Robin... Lips and bottom of nose, I actually saw this one before Collin...
The colours are great, reminds me of art milk glass from 50's/60's/70's... To me, it looks almost like you have taken the shot through a glass display cabinet, from glass side to glass side, containing the said art glass... Reflections created by a flourescent tube bouncing light and capturing Collin on the otherside... (LOL... and yes, I did read your about... :))) )
Doyles rotated version looks good, agree that Collin becomes more a part of the whole...
HHED...:)

*cue theme music*...You're traveling through another dimension. A dimension, not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Next stop the Twilight Zone!
I've attached one copy of who (Collin) was actually there, and another copy of the "who" that was not there! In the first I've outlined and brightened Collin (wearing a white t-shirt and tightie whities)...in the second I've circled the mystery face, well...the bottom half of the face, which is visible in the full size version. If you look at the thumbnail, you can see the more of "the face". Well...can you see it? Kind of freaks me out a little.
Ok, call me weird...poke fun, tell me I must have grabbed something besides sugar for my coffee this morning...but guess what my friend?, I drink my coffee black!
*aaaaand...cut theme music*
Thanks so much for taking the time Doyle...greatly appreciated!
Take care...Robin
ps...like the flip also.

Ahhhhh! I get it now.
First impression I had was that I really liked the glowing, flowing colors and how on Earth did you get them? . . . but the pale, whitish area (central image) seemed to be a bit of a distraction. I searched for a pattern or evident cause which I initially assumed to be indistinct wisps of smoke . . . THEN . . . I read the 'about' section. Knowing what to look for, I scrolled back to check and, sure enough, saw the haunting, subdued image of the face with the most famous eyes on UF . . . though not the eyes themselves so much.
Now I know how much you hate getting actual critiques (:P). . . but I just can't help myself. Your colors here are wonderful, complementing each other very well and set off nicely from the dark BG . . . because of the nature of the shot, you managed to capture a filmy, almost dreamlike melange of color, form and (believe it or not) texture . . . albeit a thin, filmy texture. While I now see what the pale area is I still find it to some extent to be distracting . . . but I suspect that's largely due to the horizontal lines leading to the young light master himself. Because they seem to start off on the left side (flow of the eye from left to right) faint and indistinct . . . and darken as they progress right . . . I think there is a much better way to present this image and that would be a 90 degree rotation so that the eye senses a uniformity since the flow then will be along the stronger lines and the wispy whitish area will become an accent . . . (All this of course is nothing more than my inspired opinion). Example attached . . . but I think it could be one excellent abstract image which would be unlikely to be duplicated and few would guess how you did it without being told. I know I wouldn't.
Very creative work Robin . . . :)
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
