Thank you Mahassa. I didn't think about the decisive moment project.
Using a slow shutter, I had to pan with the bike to capture this. I do a lot of panning with moving objects but it always boils down to hit and miss... and luck. I got lucky with this one, both from no pedestrians in the way and the perfect speed of my pan to capture him and motion blur the background.

John, here's a picture of the mini-bike that the guy on the big bike decided to "one up". I didn't realize it until I looked at this picture.. the guy might be a bit older than a "teenager".

Thanks, Shirley. This really was one lucky shot. I was the farthest away from him when he began playing and got this shot. I moved in closer and took more, thinking I would have to deal with people walking in front of the lens. I was wrong.

Thanks, John. He was driving at about 30 MPH when I shot this. Crazy.
And I had a chance of catching one falling down. Right in front of me, two old people on a huge Harley Davidson just fell right over. I was stunned and should have taken a picture. But I moved to help them and then remembered my dog Diablo was with me and thought it would probably scare them even more to find him in their face.

A great action capture, Cap'n! I know what you mean about the danger of bikes. My dad had a couple and had some serious accidents. We call them 'murdercycles' and 'donorcycles'.

Thanks, Barbara. But no, I don't have a bike. I wouldn't be caught dead on one. Not in my line of work. I've worked way too many fatalities involving motorcycles. I just went to the rally as a photo opportunity. Don't even really care for these types enough to hang out with them.

This is a spectacular action shot, I am just never this lucky, don't see this much action all year, well I guess that is because I don't stay in town much, to busy trying to stay cool. So I guess you have a bike, and road all the way to big D, sounds like you had a lot of fun. excellent job. 7+++++++++++
