great work here thomas, and please excuse my last comment, i didn't post it, a friend of mine signed in on MY usefilm posted it, ahem. i usually follow three basic principles when i take a photograph, and i am not sure exactly where i picked this up from, but i think i heard it somewhere. (the past few sentences would indicate that sharpness is not always necessary in making a good photograph, although composition is crutial).

1. know your subject well. a good understanding of your subject is crucial to being able to capture the perfect shot (especially in decisive moments)

2. compose your picture carefully. composition, as mentioned earlier is crucial.

3. simplify.

i heard these points somewhere along the line and thought i'd pass them on in a moment of pondering, looking at this photograph, which i enjoy, and wondering why my name says that sharpness is always key to a great final photograph.
