Since joining UF I have been inspired by so many wonderful photos from so many creative and talented photographers here. Recently I saw a photo just before heading out to Lassen Volcanic Nat'l Park which took my breath away.

I never dreamed that I'd actually find the location, however upon my return and reviewing my photos and then going back to Don's photo, I discovered I had actually come upon the very site! What a surprise!! How special is that? I just love seeing magnificent photographed scenery and then finding the location - and this was quite by accident. So, here I present my version (not the exact same position). The place is just amazing.. I only wish I had a little more wider angle lense to capture more of what was there. Also, wish I had been there when the lighting was better... I did a little post processing work to clean up the haziness caused by the poor lighting conditions. Thanks for viewing my photo.
well, there you go. Thanks for the very kind words and I feel deeply touched that I had moved you to chase down this image. Lassen is a very beautiful place.
Well how cool is that ? I'm a little envious. The highest peak around here is Mt. Mitchell, 6,684. Hiked it, camped it, and have plenty of photos of it, but out west is a different story. Anyway, wonderful capture again. I think a circular polarizer would have helped a little, (a little bluer sky and you may have been able to see the rocks in the stream ). I can't get over how well you compose your images. I've seen people that have had nice cameras for years and they still struggle with it... hell I do too. Keep up the fantastic work, and give Opie a pat on the head. He looks as though he could be a handful. Many thanks on your way too generous comments, Jeff
This place looks very fresh with clear water and tall pine trees.. That mountain on the background makes this capture looks like a cool place with ice cap on it. nice shot!
