I too shoot RAW most of the time, and have had rather good luck with Capture NX. Setting "control points" I find is an interesting exercise in editting. This is a wonderful shot, however I think it has more there than what you're getting (and what we're seeing!). I've had the pleasure of visiting the high-desert Southwest many times and agree that there is no blue that compares to this Utah sky. Best regards, -john
Thanks for the suggestions, John. On this trip I mostly shot RAW and I'm struggling with tweaking colors, contrast, etc., when I convert. I haven't yet developed a successful way of doing it. Have you worked with converting RAW? -- Naomi
Naomi I think you lost some of that awesome high-desert blue up there, a saturation boost and contrast tweaking could bring out that memorable sky shade, and the red rock patina perhaps (?) -john
