Striking image, John - great exposure and clarity - wish you had stepped to the left and taken the photograph without the rocky island - it complicates the composition without adding to the amazing atmosphere - nevertheless, good work.

Hi John,
A very chilly photo:) I like the way you have captured the starkness of a beach in winter and the that there is hardly any difference in colour between the sky and the sea. Wonderful clarity and lighting and I can't fault the composition.

Thanks a lot dear friend, yeap, it looks like underexposed however that is how it looks like in reality, the clouds was very dark and heavy and the lighting was beautiful for me, I need that weather....not lot of days per year looks like that... :-(

I like the light...and the feeling of calmness about the whole scene...the lull before the storm...as if I am there...the slight underexposure and the resultant subdued colours add a lot of drama to the photo...Congratulations John!!! You wonder us day after day...!!! 7/7
