I too miss the days when we all used to spend time thinking about everybody's images and putting in some thoughtful feedback.
life seems to have sped up and I don't have the time i used to for sharing and discovering.
But i should let you know that observing your work has been very helpful for me to get creative inspiration and learning.

Hey Thilo.... great photo. funny, my donor status expired and I didn't even know it LOL..(UF has an old email address of mine) So, now that it is already expired, I doubt I will renew it. I totally agree with you about UF. 4 years as a member but I hardly come on here anymore. Yes, I am busy but I have been disappointed by UF for a long time. Congrats on the little one! I am sure your days will be even busier now... later.. Paul

Well, i am member for 4 years now, and in that time i have also been "away" for some periods, because we all need "different air" from time to time .. now i am again in a more active period here, but the trick is to try find new "diamonds" in this large pool of pictures that is posted every day .. half of the time, i don't open the first pictures in "recent photo's" but i go look the portfolio of some people, which give a better view of one's qualities .. i then pick out one picture that appeals to me and comment on that..
Now that i am reviewing my lens collection, i also look at the lens used for certain shots .. which is also rewarding ..
Now, i cannot oblige you to stay, or renew your membership, but i can assure you : usefilm is a site with good quality in pictures, there are a lot of sites that present less quality !! So i keep coming back.
Cheers mate, and keep the fun in photography, that is the most important !

Hey Arwa,
this is so great to hear from you. When I think about Usefilm, you play an important part. So your absence here is a good indicator for my relationship to UF =)

I am still here as well, and I totally agree with you, UF is not the place it used to be a year a go,
But sometimes I think it is US who are having a higher expectations!! it is a possibility,
I shoot Less these days, sometimes I keep what i shoot to my self, not interested as I used to be to post in here .. and honestly I don't know why. My last shooting trip, took 1GB of pictures, selected 6 to upload, I uploaded 1 up till now and yet I don't feel like uploading more,
My Donor stats will end very soon, much as you, I am not sure what is the point behind donating and keep a huge Friends list, maybe only 5 of them still active .. well you never know ..
Something for sure, I will stay in here, keep UF as my online gallery, try to involve with other sites, enter few challenges .. and will see.
UF is like the old chair to me, I like it .. it is comfy, but can't resist the temptation of getting a new one ;)
Btw, this has to be one of your best pictures,
And thanks to friends like you I am still in UF :)

i'm still here even if i don't post photos very often...that is more about me,than UF...but like you,i do miss "the gang" and do keep in touch with some who left...luckily i have a few new friends who keep me laughing...

Dear Thilo, your "about"could have been written by me. The "redesign period" changed EVERYTHING and it's never been the same since. I too have about a month left on my donor status and am seriously thinking about everything. It's getting harder and harder to find enjoyment here. Anyway, I understand how you feel. It's good to see you back... if only for a little while. Sorry to read that you are thinking of leaving here for good.
My suggestion is to just keep the lines open on Usefilm, even if you feel that you don't have the time. Every now and then you will meet a "like" mind, even if the general community has diminished. I just went through my friends list and most of them seem to be missing in action. But new people are dropping in all the time.
A wonderful image of Venice BTW. One similar to this was probably one of the first of yours that I commented on almost two years ago.

One of the best Venice pics i ever seeni love it very much. It gives me the impression that you found an old photo in a hardcaver album and then colorize it manually. Probably the grey sky makes me think this way... 7+
