Hi Andre!
Similar look of late November and early April. It sounds very interesting for photography! Here we have quite a different look in these two times of the year. Which might be as interesting too - oh well, any light can be photography light after all.

Hi Nick,
Late November and early April have a very similar look around here in the countryside. Especially after some rain. We get that nice slick look that seems to bring out the rich dark colours of late fall and early spring.

Thanks a lot for the explanation, Aniko! I see what you mean.
The mountains themselves can also be very cruel, especially when being on some cliffs, without much food or water, and without any possibility to find some near refuge. Then it's just survive the best you can - but you know that alredy as a mountain girl :-)
Anyway, I like nature but I don't see that as something that is only peaceful and beautiful. After all, the ripping claws of a bear are also natural :-)
As about Randee, well yes, she could indeed have meant that the way you describe. Interesting to see the many possible interpretations of one and the same message.

Thank you very much for the nice, detailed comment, Andre! It has been the color bands that attracted my attention!
This one is from late winter last year, if I remember well. After some weeks everything was green there too. It seems that nature in different places looks similar - more similar than we imagine! :-)

Perhaps what Randee actually "meant" in his statement re missing the mountains, is that this image is so enchanting, that he actually longs to be near mountains again... that he misses being near the mountains??? Just a thought... :)

I live on a mountain.. how could I miss mountains? Mountain ranges all around me. :)
I am a mountain girl!!! :) :) :)
It speaks to my soul, this image, and tells me that even in this ugly often cruel world, there is still beauty and majesty. The mountains are proud!

Hi Nick,
You have created a good sense of depth with this landscape. Different colours for different distances.
BTW the foreground colours are almost exactly what our fields around here look like this week. Just before the green comes out :)

Oh well, Randee, I should better go hyperfocus for getting some better sharpness of the foreground, so the DoF here is OK starting from somewhere in the middleground - it's... OK.
I am glad that you like the muted colors. As about missing the mountains, well the Canadian Rockies can't be that far? Just get a backpack and get out! Still here? Go, go! Shoot something, anything! ;-)
