Haaa!! A Goose !! I have seen Geese fly before-- but not so much in or out of water come to think of it, and not well or often either !! No wonder this bird looked a bit heavy ...haa!!! You can laugh too already--
Pradnya I think you also moved from Chicago ? Maybe I should read your profile again !!

This is a Goose, a waterbird belongs to family of swans and ducks!
I don't think they fly much in air... May be thatswhy you thought it's take-off was different..

Haha! This image is great Pradnya and it makes me smile and gigle a bit ...I am just wonderfing if this large bird is learning to fly since this take -off looks like it is somewhat new 
Regardless it's very cute, and the composition is wonderful ! The clarity is great, and you certainly seem to know your settings well and fast ...I am soo impressed !!! Keep on shooting !! I just love it dear Pradnya --7+++++++++++++++++++
