Actually Rob, and this is truly subjective, looking at your triptych some more, it may only well be the choice of the pic on the right that doesn't work well for me. The center shot suggests some king of symmetry in subject and comp... the right pic has a distinctly 3 dimensional feel, as opposed to the two others that are more like a tableau, more of a 2 dimensional feel...
I see your point. I did these all within half an hour, at the same location. The location is a division of the Metropolital Museum here in New York City. It's called the Cloisters. The buildings and exhibits are all European, from the middle ages. I was born and brought up within a mile of the buildings. I menttion all this as I suppose that I emotionally attached to the site as subject. I wouldn'd see it's faults. I had hoped that the similar but differing base lines along with the consistent virticals would unite the images. Also, the is only my second triptych. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.
I am a bit on the fence on this one Bob. I like the triptych concept, but here I am wondering what the thread was/is ? Yes it's about the stone, but I am not sure the three images read well side by side, at least compositionnally. Best, JF
