Very interesting idea, James! But then I would have to rotate the camera, which I do now with PS for taking a look to what might have been. And indeed it turns much more interesting! Your image made me understand that. Thanks a lot for this great idea!

I think bark shots like this look better in landscape orientation (never mind that trees don't grow that way). Give it an aspect like this one:
