I know very little about astronomy, so if anyone reads anything incorrect or inaccurate in my following blurb, please feel free to let me know.
This is a photo of a waxing moon in what I think is refered to as the "belt of venus," or "Venus' belt," which is the purplish ring across the western sky during a sunrise. The planet Venus, which is also sometimes refered to as the morning star, will be found somewhere in this 'belt.'
Again, any one who can confirm or correct this information, please speak-up!
Any critiques of the photo are also welcomed, of course.
