About Okay, I admit, I don't know my artists. But it seems to me Monet would paint something like this. So correct me if I am wrong.

This was intentionally shot about 30 mintues after sunset, without a tripod and with the engine vibration from my truck vibrating my arm to create a blurred patch of aspen in a dark forest setting. This is a 1.30 second exposure.

No filters have been used. The only manipulation were slight color adjustments and the frame.

You always were mean to me, little brother. And there is absolutely no accounting for your lack of taste for refined art. I'm convinced we had different mothers and fathers.

And I'll expect to see you in about 5 days when you can actually find something good written about Dumbya. At least you know the proper place to put propaganda. So you got that goin' for ya.

(actually, I am quite surprised at the response to this photo, too. I thought sure I'd be setting my alarm for about 4 AM so as to quietly delete it from my portfolio)

Here's to your honesty!

Dave

uhhhhh . . . yeah. Yep. hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm . . . well . . . it IS blurry. AND meant to be so too . . . not accidently.

I can't lie to you my brother . . . this one's just not for me. Wouldn't put it on MY wall . . . and thanks to the respect I have for you I couldn't use it in my birdcage either! I'll avoid rating this shot too . . . (trust me, it's for the best). LoL! 5 favorites and such gushing praise and ratings! Amazing. But - I guess - this is called different strokes . . . kinda' thing. And I AM a painter and painting kinda' guy.

While it may be difficult . . . somehow I think my lack of appreciation will not cause too many sleepless nights for you! I know you'd rather have the honesty anyway . . . though like me honesty seems easier to take when I'm being called a genius!!! Luckily we can step outside the box from time to time and try other things. The funniest thing, though, is I recently uploaded "MicrOasis" - a blurry that I too felt was good . . . and was shocked to see a lack of universal scorn. Very interesting. Luckily, it's really only AFTER you've proven you can take good shots following all the rules that people seem to understand that they may be something more to this or that shot and not just discard it......and we've both certainly done that. Anyway....no hard feelings my brother....I'm off to find a newspaper that says something nice about GW Bush for my birdcage! Hehehehehee.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thank you, the lovely Rina. So good to see you out and about, you've made my Saturday night! Hopefully you've successfully got the kids hung by their toes in the closet now and you'll be back playing with the big kids.... maybe??

Just beautiful. I'm not sure of my painters either, so we'll go with Monet :) I do know of two other photographers here at UF, who have a wonderful way with this effect: Ian McIntosh and James Cook. Look 'em up (if you haven't already). Aside from being very clever, like you ;), they're also very good people and well worth hooking up with.

Love this and making a fav too.
Cheers
Rina.

Dave,

Excellent 'abstract' photo. I love the 'in camera' blurring effects, really makes it very painterly..

Nice Work!

Yep, you hit the jackpot for sure!
Now, you'll be on another kind of roll!

You'll just have to come back for Yosemite, Death Valley..........too bad you missed them. :(

Have a good one!

Dave, you certainly have been busy since while I wasn't looking. I adore this! I keep coming back to look at it. Normally I have no trouble putting how I feel into words, but this has left me unable to figure out what I feel. I 'll think about it over night. It's gorgeous. Two favourites from you and two minutes! CC
