About A brief shoot with Jasmine from Model Mayhem. We finally lost all available light, and I bounced my flash off the wall before calling it quits.

Melanie,
I would have preferred that latter, but we were quickly losing light, and had no more time for wardrobe changes. :(

This was literally the final shot of the session, before walking back to our cars.

I like this, Paul. It's sweet, yet sensual. I tink the lighting works with the mood.

My only complaint is the bra! LOL It distracts my attention... she either needs a better bra that doesn't show through so much or she needs to just loose the bra!

I really like this light and her pose. I also have one 50mm f 1.8, it is really a fantastic lens. Congrats.

Fantastic Paul!

The tones are delightful, as is the clarity of the shot, and pose of this beautiful lady!

Stunning!

Warm Wishes my friend,
Ani :)

Fantastic lighting here.......bounce is great.
Wonderful warm tones, fantastic clarity!!

Only thing...I wish her expression and body language was a bit more relaxed! That would have made a great photo a KILLER photo!!

Nice work Paul,
Lori :)

I had bumped my ISO up to 800 as the light was fading, and forgot to lower it when I turned to my 580EX as primary lighting, so yes, I used Neat Image to reduce the noise. Her skin's nice, but not perfect. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Superb image - skin tones look superb - did you use any filters here or is her skin that good?
well done

Excellent light, great pose of model, 50mm work out here perfectly. Sexy, sensual.

Paul,

I love the lighting, shadows, DOF, comp and sharpness of this "Masterpiece" my friend...

Well done indeed,

Martin

Gorgeous skin tones and interesting lighting result. Shame about her expression though. She looks really uncomfortable.

Thanks for the advice. It does not take a serious arm twist to convince me to save $300-$400. I am ordering the f1.8 lens today.

Jan, in both clarity and economy, the 50mm f1.8 can't be beat. I know some photographers who dismissed the lens because it was so affordable, opting instead to spend a LOT more more money for the f1.4 or f1.2 for 1/2-stop difference.

I would recommend this lens for every canon camera bag.

Thanks for your warm comments, too.

In lighting adversity comes beauty. Love this photo. Also impressed with the detail and clarity as I am thinking about picking up a Canon 50mm; will have to look at the f1.8. I like the results you have here.
