Thank you very very much, Laura. You have very sharply observing eyes, indeed. The story about the background is that on the day it was rather windy and not very bright light. So I had the problem of blurring not only the background because of plant movement and because of my narrow DOF, but also the foreground with the small flowers. I took a big piece of card and placed it such that the flowers were in the wind shadow. So they stood still. But incidentally they were also in the shadow of the piece of card, and so I chose I rather long exposition time, somethin about 1 second, to compensate for the weak light. While the apperture was open the plants moved sometimes, and this is what you see as a "pattern" there.

Beautiful macro. The dof is excellent but different. Did you do something special to it? I like how it is more patterned rather than just blurred and there almost seems to be three layers to your image. great job! Laura
