I guess all creatures have looks to get a message across. These birds must be very used to your being around them now. They probably know they have nothing to feart from you and your camera. I know you put this in the Critique Corner but I couldn't possibly offer you any suggestions. This is beautiful.

I'd like to critique, - but I can't... Fonderful amazing shot! Perfect composition...
May be a little bit high luminosity of the wing of the left bird.

Serge

Hi Darlene I'm with Kathy and Don on this one. A landscape format for this would serve a couple of purposes. You would get to see more of the birds and the large tree trunk in the background would not be as dominating in the background.
Still, the pose of the birds and the quality of the image is excellent.

Next time, you could go and chop that tree down before you take the shots so it isn't in the way :)

These are beautiful specimens in your fine series. I think Kathy is right. A horizontal format seems more appropriate for this pose. Of course, that's easy for me to say. You're the one who would have swing that huge lens around and line it up again! Wonderful work . . .

Best wishes,
--George

So cool, I love the expressions but I like seeing all of the birds and I think it is good enough resolution to have both. Do you have it both ways? Guess what we are getting snow, have 6 inches so far....want to come early and we can make snow angels...... :) Pat

I am like Kathy on this one, a horizontal would maybe include a little more of the beautiful birds and surroundings. Again this is beautiful work. Don.

The look of love........boy chats up girl.
Another wonderful shot to add to the egret collection my dear Darlene. I love the bold crop to this shot because it focuses my attention on the birds 'facial' expressions this time rather than wandering off onto their beautiful wispy feathers which I so love in other shots in the series. Yes, the crop is perfect here. The details and colours in the beaks and heads are stunning and the depth of field (as is usual for you)is perfect. Well done to you sweetie. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

They look pretty pleased with themselves, Darlene! Great capture and composition, I like the background, showing a bit of the environment, but letting the birds really stand out.
Dave.

Another great shot Darlene! I love your focus on the birds and on the branch that they are standing on. The only thing that I think would make this a better shot is if it was in a landscape format with the entire birds showing. (Of course, I only say that because this is in critiquer's corner, and I'm being nitpicky :)) Well done my friend!
Kathy
