This 2006 winter in Ontario has been hanging on for quite some time. This weekend myself and friends headded out to take some black and whites and voila. At the fish ladder there were sickly greens and yellows - terrible for colour, but great for b/w.
This was taken with my pocket camera (Nikon 7900, 7.1 mp) on tripod just after sunset (so that I could get the shutter speed low enough for the water effect).

I like the composition as well, although I can't quite make out what it is. The rushing water on the left, the texture in the center, and the wall(?) on the right give the photo an interesting balance. I also like the unusual balance of light and dark in this image. Very unique and well done.
