These beautiful little creatures have stuck with us through the entire sorry, snowy winter. We have a group of about five, accompanied by two or three Mountain and Black-Capped Chickadees that are helping us to cope with it all. On-camera flash used. Those are snowflakes crusting the base of its beak.
Angela: Thank you for your kind remarks. These small birds are our constant companions throughout the winter here in the Colorado Rockies. They travel in large groups and are relatively fearless. This helps me to photograph them. This particular bird is in fresh plumage. Now, here in Colorado, they are rather worn and darker in color but still very entertaining.
