I like this alot. But those catchlights bother me. It seems un-natural for them to be below the pupil. I think your reflector should be shifted slightly left and not positioned so low.
Just my 2 cents.

Very cool looking one here Verna. You have a most beautiful model to work with. The butterfly is a nice addition but perhaps you should feather it a bit so the edges blend better. I am assuming that you put the butterfly on its own layer so maybe trying to experiment with different layer styles and opacity to make the butterfly blend a bit more naturaly. This is a great idea and you have a good foundation here. Have some fun with it and experiment some!

Hello Verna,
I like your work a lot. You have great use of tone and color. I like this portrait of Alli...but being the straight shooter I am....I would like to see the portrait done the same without the butterfly. The difference of the apparent sharpnes between the girl and the butterfly bothers me.
But thats ok....I think this forum is good for experimentation. I do like this and many other portraits you have done. Gary

Verna,
Another great shot! I do have a couple of issues with this one though. First the face seems soft focused -was that intended? Second the lighting seem a bit harsh and unflattering but again that might have been what you were going for and if so you nailed it.
Was this hand colored or PS?
