Beautiful capture, Laura! The tonality of the feathers is so warm, like velvet.The dried branch to which it clings make some intricate, but clear patterns, the opposite of the blurred patterns at the far right. Good balance.Lighting is just wonderful!

Believe it or not, I shoot most of these bird pics from my car. I park... wait for a bird to light someplace, and click like crazy. I have a new lens 75-300mm but so far have not gotten any better shots than I did with the 200mm. GO figure!

Great photo laura......Wonderful color and lighting. Like the DOF as well. Tell me, how do you get close enough to them without scaring them off!! I use my 70-300 mm and can't get close enough to these little guys to get anywhere near to as good a shot as this! I start thinking I do not have a long enough focal lenght lens and then I see you with 200mm getting shots like this! ghezzzzz! lol
