Thank your Bill, I am now getting ready to leave Afghanistan, and this remains one of my favourite photographs - he was an impressive man, and I cannot imagine what he has been through over the last 20 years.
Superb composition. The hagard, weary look in his eyes begs the viewer to ask why - what has occured - what have you just witnessed. This image urges inquiry and thought. Very good picture.
I love your very nice portrait. I can feel a very deep pain and suffering in his eyes. Perhaps if he was not a man could put his head on your shoulder and cry, but his "PRIDE" doesn't let him to lower himself to the psition of a woman. This is nice about these people live in a very harsh conditions (geographically, politically, and cultural). Also I can feel some kind of pessimistic in his face. Who are those people in the background?
