Well planned image, Paolo. I love the curve of the steps and that the shadow has taken the form of a giant arrow pointing right to the subjects walking by. I don't think this image would be near as effective without that shadow :)

Wonderful use of the shadow and curves into the top of the photograph, amazing composition.
With half closed eyes the steps look like curved fingers of two hands together.

Awesome composition, Paolo! Although the stairs are in the shade, I think it's more important that the man and his daughter, adding the vivid atmosphere here, are lit by the sun.
The only disadvantage of the stairs being in the shade might be the pigeon that people may hardly notice...anyhow it's very rare that a situation is all perfect-we are not all perfect ourselves either.
