Great use of the road to lead you to the storm while enjoying the scenic view. I would have gotten a little lower to the road to give you the feel of walking in the picture. Keep up the good work.

I know Canada is a big place, Becky. And you've conveyed that very well, with this dead-straight, symmetrical perspective. The Romans never made it this far, but that road could've been one of theirs! I like the blue graduating sky, also. A very impressive, vertical wide-angle. I might have put some deep grey into the brooding cloudbase, though. Just to deepen the effect.

Captivating shot, Becky, graphically and colourwise well composed. Like the great light creating this threatning atmosphere. Also love the story line, the imminent threat and the long way to go to not get caught: and "uphill both ways", metapher for some life situations (to speak of formative years). But I love Stefans view! What a gift!

Amr: I would sometimes fly down that hill on my bicycle, which was as close as one could get to flying, I imagine (potholes notwithstanding).
Stefan: I really lucked out with that sky. I think it was a combination of lighting conditions (liiiittle bit of sun left while the storm was barreling in), and a polarizer. I'm not sure why the Velvia didn't cast a cool hue over everything . . . maybe because everything's mostly green. I'd love to hear other theories . . .

I presume it is also downhill both ways? It is interesting to me how the sky is so incredibly blue, yet the colors appear perfectly where they ought to be...
