The combination of the colours (grey/beige and red)and the light give this photo its warmth. I think, Margaret, that the mysteriousness of a lot of wonderful English children's books radiates from this photo.

Wonderful Chris, those glimpses of sunlight [and that is all we seem to have had in the past few days here. Except Sunday for Lucy's blessing the sun shone and it was a beautiful warm day - we were blessed indeed] Love the colours and the real old texture/feel - like part of a 'secret garden' in fact in put me in mind of that book which I haven't read since I was young - and no comments of 'boy that was a long time ago'

Certnaly this one is a fantastic photo.. The new season with its colors arrived, and you captured it in exemplary manner! You saw the light.. the light that to times is melancholy. Like composition is very moving and also romantic. I hope that it is between the better annoted..
A simple and common angle of house (a castle), is always charming! Exceptional photo.
