I agree with hugo. It has great potential and really grabs you. I think use of a polarizing filter would have really helped the original, and then de saturation to b&w might have done the trick. I think the image might be leaning to the right a little too. I know its difficult with w/a

Hee Tim! Beide versies vind ik mooi (de originele & de contrast versterkte). Die roze-rode gloed geeft me een beetje het echte "oudheid" gevoel, alsof het echt een foto is uit die tijd.. de versie met de zwarte lucht vind ik minder.

Hi Tim, I feel a bit ambiguous about this shot. The composition is very good, and the scene is nice too. It has alot of potential. I also appreciate the creative approach and the effort you put into it. Always stimulating!
I?m not sure about the blown out sky and the posterised effect caused by the contrast. It limits the dynamic range, and does IMO not benefit the atmosphere nor the quality of the shot.
I?m curious what the original looks like; It would give a reference of what you did to the original.
Cheers,
Hugo

Well we seem to have quit the same feel. Is this what you mean. The roof didn't succeed very well. But have a look. Greets and thanks for the comment, Tim.

Hi there Tim I have a similar picture (in B/W) done I think few meters behind your shot position.... In my humble opinion to improve drastically this shot i could transform the sky in a dark black color leaving without transformation the other part of the shot so that the black sky will be complementary to the yellow colors to the square enphasizing the geometries of the coloumns and the eliptics shapes on the pavement. I can see it with my eyes mind ....by the way let you try!!! ....I will wait for your final work... P.S. I come from Naples... ;-)
