About It must have been at least a week since I took or loaded up a cottage pic and I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms ~ so here it is?

Taken in the charming Dorset village of Cerne Abbas, mid-afternoon today, as me and the Mrs stopped off for a stroll on route to her mum's. She's gone down for a few more days of T.L.C. to further her recovery and this was an ideal staging post ~ particularly as there is a very excellent tea shop there that serves wonderful fruit scones and crumpets!!

Have a good night's rest! See you tomorrow!

Best regards, Chris

Feel the quiet!

No more bluebells!

To clone or not to clone…

Little quackers!

Waitin' for the bus

I know it looks noisy…

The lonely walk…

Colmer's Hill

Sheer work of art!!

It's good to see the original and know how much your own vision and skills contribute to the final result. A lot, in this case...

Chris, I love it when you include the original. It's fantastic how you can turn an ordinary image (no offense meant!) into a painting. You truly have great PS skills.
As for the image ... feast for my eyes - have been missing your cottages.
So I see you are back to dusting and vacuuming again? :-)

Well I was wondering when we would see another thatched roof!! And you sure didn't dissappoint!

Very nice Chris, I am so amazed by these rooftops. What is done around the chimneys?
How often do these catch on fire? Probably don't or they would be gone by now!

Great photograph, love the composition as usual!
THE FRAME IS PERFECT!!!

Almost right, Peter.
The initial 'stripe' comes from the thatch ~ the straw that's used to make the roof.
I then added a subtle 'rough pastel' effect to the whole image to make it look a little more like a painting ~ just a personal preference.
I then applied a stripey overlay to the frame to match the lines already present in the picture.
Thank you for your kind comment.
Regards, Chris

Marvellous, just being right there on the spot with you, looking at these wonders of ancient building .. just a question: why do you apply this striping from the frame right through the picture ? (am i right?) .. regards, Peter

Here's the original for comparison.

I hate aeriels ~ they had to go!!

I hate white skies ~ it had to go!!

I don't much like old thatch ~ I touched it up a bit!!

Otherwise, it's very much as I took it!! :-))
