See my comments in "Don't Fence Me In." This larger version is even more dramatic.

Guess maybe I'm qualified :)
This is v nice shot. I like very much the way you've seen the cloud, and I think it's well framed. There is lots of zone vii (as us consv types might call it) but that seems to work well, and given the red filter this perhaps was your intention. Perhaps a little more detail here might be an advantage. But good, all the best John.

That Jim Loy fella is one sharp observer. At least he was the first to comment on the infamous White Spot. If you hadn't denied it first, I'd have sworn you pasted that in there just to stir us up. It's like the dot on the exclamation point. The finishing touch to a masterwork.

Wow Rebecca. The contrast with that red filter is fabulous! I am going to try it right away. Nice composition. I like the slight grainey feel to it. I too really like the knot hole. Great job!!!

Rebecca, I'm really glad you posted this one to stand on it's own! Of the two, I like this one best mainly because of the way that wonderful cloud is featured against the sky. In the closer version, the cloud was more of a backdrop, whereas here it's a principal player! (can you tell I love clouds?)
The fence adds a great graphical contrast, especially with that knot hole! Great shot (from your liberal friend!! :)

I voted Conservative in our Federal election last week, does that count? :-) Fantastic thick white cloud Rebecca and lovely framing with the branches. I like the angle and the effect of the red filter.

First off....just let Gayle have her say...nod slightly...and smile. That seems to calm her...Secondly...I liked the first post...and then I looked at this. One point caught my eye...that knothole showing white cloud beyond. That is so cool. The HUGE cloud we see in the massive top of the photo...and the same cloud caught in the small round peeping knothole. For me, that white spot on the dark fence just, well...makes the shot.
Still rubbing head from MM slap Jim

LMAO...thanks for the giggle and ok,no light on the fence...how about this.."the contrast of dark fence with the Tide bright white of the cloud gives this image substance"! ;> ..you're funny,lady...gayle

dangit Gayle.. DON'T be difficult! lol There was NO LIGHT on the fence lol... This fence was behind a store..and was in the shade. I actually started looking with the red filter, simply because the clouds were so pretty! I'll go back one day and try it in the light! ok?? lol

not sure where "i" fit in, but can you combine the two since i like some of each?..LOL..i love the texture and how you composed the first one and this one i love the bright, white cloud..seriously, both have their merits but i just want more clarity on that fence..don't mind me,i probably just need new reading glasses or a better monitor ;D ..gayle
