Nice image, I like the color and texture. Thanks for your comment on my Old Seaman image. You're right I did an Unsharp mask, but in this case I wanted the graininess to complement the B&W, roughness if the character.

extrem macro. På min MAC hemma ser jag att bilden är suddig. "Original"
bild är tursamt nog skarp.

Hi Becky - I struggled with this crop right along the lines you suggest and decided I liked the presented version better. I still do and the reason is that I see the rose develop from that dark area and blossoms to the top. Very good point tho - I think it shows how different people simply process the same image in different ways.

While I like the backlighting on this flower and the wonderful colours and tones it creates, I feel the natural pull of the eye is towards the center of the flower due to the pattern of lines. I think cropping just a bit off the bottom so the center of the flower is a half-circle might fix this. I feel it takes the emphasis off the bottom of the photo and puts it where you want it to be.
Aside from all that kerfuffle, this is a great, warm, expressive flower macro. :)
