Whoops! I meant a step or two to the left. 8> I guess I should have explained that I would have brought the model a little further forward and used the 105mm end to compress perspective and make it look like she was next to the wall.

Hi Jim. Yes, it is harsh lighting. I think I can see what you were trying to convey here. I am not sure it quite works as journalism and I tend to agree with Mark's view about fashion. Could the picture have been helped? I believe it could.
If it were mine I think I would have tried to lose the shapeless shadow detail in the bottom right hand corner as it is a competing interest against such a busy background. For the same reason I would have wanted to lose the spiky shadow detail too. Now a step or two to the right would have used the graffiti background to its best advantage as it looks as if all of it would have been in the light. What do you think Jim?
My final thought was to desaturate it and paint just the model's lips and fingernails in ruby red. Nice work!

Great model and a location with potential. Says more fashion to me then journalism. Did you try any other shots? Using all ends of your zoom? It's just that in my (very) humble opinion the shot needs a more dynamic composition and depth. The harsh lighting can work well if combined with a powerful composition. It would be good to see some more if you have them.
