Excellent play of light, also choosing the perfect subject and environment makes it a stellar shot!!! Cheers, Harry Hahaha.. I like your BIO, Paul, for me UF has become a chatting site rather of the photography’s passion us used to be back in 2005 to 2006 :):)

A moody, serene, yet somewhat sorrowful image, Paul. I can smell the salt spray and feel the soft sand. Beautiful. And the PS border works fine. Regards. Anson

The contrast of the almost radiating white surface of the water against the very dark sky make it look electrifying - much like an upcoming storm. And the contrast of the black branch against the water adds a very solitary note. The "mystery" element comes from the black mountains in the depth.
I think that the strength of this one is the rather high dynamics range. Perhaps some more hard contoured clouds could enhance the dramatic look, though there is already enough of that on the image.
Very atmospheric work.

Thank you Mirek. The original is nearly 6000 pixels across and I suppose it does loose something in the size reduction. I particularly like the way the branch is similar in shape to the cliffs behind.
Be well.

Thank you JD. The negative was scanned on an Epson 4490 @2400dpi. The negative border was deliberately left on as I am placing these images in a folder in my pf which contains full frame film scans (no cropping - as taken). When imported into PS I levelled the horizon rather than the border. When framing the photo the tripod must have been slightly off level in the sand.
Be well my friend.

Good landscape. I like Your exposure, seems right on the money. The foggy waves and the curved branch bind the photo together well with the dark and somber clouds above. I am sure it looks better when bigger.

there are two different critics here: the image itself is really good, actually amazing; love the dramatic sky and the white sea, the trunk on the sea gives a great DOF; second critic is related to the frame; love this kind of frames, i simulate them in some of my pictures too; but in this occasion the superior border is tilted and gives the optical ilusion of tilted horizon when it's perfect so I'd try a different one my good man, anyway a grand piece as usual be well....txules
