fantastic captue, you have been able to stage some excellent actino shots. the silhouette works well here, standing out against the background. I also like the spray from the boarder's jump - truly excellent work. andy

HI Joe...thanx for such a great comment...the original was a sequence of 3 shots in sports mode...this being the sweetest shot...the subject was too far for a flash but I agree a strobe may have helped... I was hoping for the silhouette...I was panning as she jumped...my favourite part is the action frozen right down to the movement in her ponytail...Cheers Dan

As CC, I like the silhouette idea. I'm not sure it needed a wider shutter or not. One could always just keep the camera going with continuous shooting, and see what you get. You can't plan action shots. A strobe or parabolic flash might help too, if you are close enough, to fill in. Trying to shoot action makes it difficult to watch the horizon. You hold with the left which sometimes becomes too dominant, and press down right and sometimes cause a tilt. I've done it a lot, myself. Interesting photo.

Super silhouette shot!! Wonderful tones, fantastic frozen action... love the waterspray and good composition... but I would 'straighten' the horizon... I do agree with John that it's almost impossible to take this kind of action shot with a horizontal horizon, but it can be easily 'fixed' afterwards by turning the whole image a couple of degrees... ;-D Very well done!!

Absolutely great, fantastic freezed motion and I really love the sparkling drops of the water with that fantastic color....could be the most original sunset shot? Well why not! Excellent job and I don't care about the tiltness on the horizon line...if anybody can take a shot like that, full of cation without tilt horizon I could pay him even some money! :-D Excellent Dan! Best regards.
