Thank you for your story also Cathy. I'm delighted that your son is doing so well and that he now has chilren of his own. As you now know Zachary is Chris' son and he too is doing very well. I did recognize your name from Chris, site but I didn't know how to respond to the comments. Chris exzplained it to me last night. Thanks again, Anita

Thank you Paul. It was a wonderful story for me also. This is my Grandson Zachary and they operated on him 12 hours after his birth and removed a third of his lung. Today he is a healthy, happy 13 year old, whom I love very much.

Chris, it is such a small world-I had no idea this is your family. I assumed it was a current photograph, but am pleased to know Zachary is thriving! I just realised I am using Anita's link, without even saying hello. How rude! I apologise and warmly welcome you to UF. CC

Cathy....it is a wonderful story; I know because I was there, that is my first born son Zachary taken by my mother (Anita Smith) at the time of delivery. Small world huh? :) We spend the first four weeks of his life in intensive care following the surgery he received to remove the tumor the day of his birth. He truly is and was our mircle!
For the record here is Zachary 13 years later with his sister! Chris

What a story of courage! Even though this person looks little and fragile, the human spirit is stronger than we imagine. We were told our eldest would never walk, talk or attend school. He is 26 now, and has made us grandparents! I send my warmest wishes to this child and his family. CC
