Thanks Jan I'm glad you liked the photo. They really are lovely gentle animals though aren't they ...even if they are tough on the roses. When he was young, our Grandson in Albany California, started calling Bambi evil and we couldn't figure out why; until we learned that the deer were eating his mothers roses. Thanks again, Anita

Glad you enjoyed the photo Shelby, and it is hunting season here also, but not in the neighbourhoods! Maybe that's why the smart deer hang around the towns..that and all the good plant food we have planted just for them! Thanks Shelby, Cheers, Anita

Yes John we do have lots of deer here and if you check out my photos for today you'll see what else we have pleny of. I don't know too much about buck but could it be a parent and two yearlings or do the antlers tell you they are all the same age? Thanks John,I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. Cheers, Anita

Well done, Anita. We have this around our place all the time and it is a pleasure to see the gentle creatures close-up. They do eat everything in sight, though and can be very hard on favorite foliage. --Jan

I like this picture as it is a perfect example of urban "sprawling" into the habitat of wildlife to eventually push wildlife out completely. I've seen this same scene at my sister's neighborhood in Tarzana, California, when developers built houses into the hills, and all the wildlife did not know what to do but walk the streets of what use to be their wild territory. Everything from deer, coyotes, linx, mountain lion, plenty of rattlesnake, a gazillion rabbits, . . . Nice capture Anita. Good documentation.

People here in TN would be shooting like crazy if they saw them this close to their houses. It unfortunately is hunting country here :( Still amazing to see them so close to houses. They are beautiful animals.

I still am amazed that there are places where the animals can do this. I did notice a lot of fences around gardens near Banff and Jasper so I guess you are not alone! Three bucks together? I thought they were solitary. Anyways a nice capture. Thanks for sharing with us city folk. John B
