obviously what makes this even better than cosmic dream is the toned down colour in the frame, imagine how good your stats would be without any colour in the frame at all,lol,. well i'm not going to repeat my comment of 17/6/05, so from one scouse sad git to a (sad stats sort of git), all the best, regards art,. ps, excellent work on the frame,.

Excellent idea, John. Just like an abstract painting.The only thing I didn't like was the pink in the frame. I think a plain black frame would have been better. Cheers, Ann.

Thanks Emman. I agree with you about Slavomir's words - if he doesn't like your image, it is his right to say so, but he should explain why rather than just leave an unpleasant comment.
Anyway, it's best to just ignore such things, be positive and constructive. So many thanks for your kind comments on mine... though you are always welcome to tell me what you don't like, as long as you tell me why!

sorry for not answering your question back, john. i just felt a little bit hurt by the comment of slavomir to my recent image. i believe that i don't deserve his (slavomir) words. i ridicuol my comment to his recent image and i mean it, and i know that it's some kind of a revenge. ha ha.

Hi Ciprian. I did get out one afternoon in Bucharest to try to get some shots, but it was rather grey and dismal and I didn't really find much inspiration. I'll be visiting several more times in the next few months so maybe next time...

Having clicked on this I was expecting an elaborate explanation on how this was done; but it's really simple instead. Very well seen and quite an effective optical illusion.
It almost looks like a painting and I think with the right mounting it would look great on a wall.
No shots from Bucharest?

Hi Mary. Many thanks for taking the time to leave a serious critique - that's why I'm here. I only upgraded this to CC a short while ago as I had not spotted the new feature earlier.
I'm obviously getting old and senile - you're quite right: I uploaded this before as Cosmic Dream! Well, let's see which one does better. But I'm flattered you went and looked through the "back catalogue".
I agree with you about the pink. My own view is that the image is a little unbalanced because of the lack of colour in the top left area. As this is a crop from a larger image I could perhaps do something about that - probably what I should have done for this posting!

John, I think this might be the same image as CosmicDream uploaded on 6/17/05. At least it is very similar.
I like your exploration of this subject and technique. The varied patterns of colors are vibrant and really draw in the viewer.
In this image, that hot pink swath is vibrant enough that it nearly dominates the entire image. That isn't a bad thing as it gives a focus to this very abstract photograph. However, the position of the pink swath leads the viewer's eye right off the edge of the image. Essentially, I find myself mostly looking at the top border, just to the right of center.
Maybe it is just me, but for some reason that element makes it more difficult to enjoy the image as a whole. Does that make sense?
Anyway, I'm glad you posted it as a CC because I might have missed it otherwise. Thanks!!
