I have captured your license plate - for evil!

No, really, looks just as bad as mine. My back was sore for two weeks, but I was lucky to be OK as well.

MA:

Chain collision - I was the third of five cars, and all the others were SUVs/Minivans, which meant my little car was smushed up.

There is a shot of the new car on uf as well!

I have been to Hocking Hills 3 or 4 times; it is a wonderful place to photograph. I am familiar with Cedar Falls and have shot it many times. It never occurred to me though to try it in black and white.

This is a lovely photo. The silky smoothness of the falling water and its splash into the pond......

I can't think of anything which could be done to improve it.

Ya know what's wierd... a friend once give me a b&w wallpaper sample that was very similar to this. Weirdest stuff (for wallpaper) I've ever seen. He got it at a bookstore. I like those artistic faces.

I desaturated quite a bit to emphasize the complicated ugliness on a simple and elegant wall.

Ha - point well made, glad you got it.

Just remember here in the US our "old" stuff is your "farily new" stuff. (excluding the Scandinavian modernism and facination with all clean new surfaces)

hi, simple but effective shot with good contrast of color...if were mine,i would crop up from bottom to remove the sliver of ground...not a biggy, but would polish the image...and i would clone out the plug? spot on the wall....

please write to me at: kissthesky22@yahoo.com
i have some things to run by you per the UF book idea...

First thing I notice about that photo is the spot on the wall in the crack that is missing paint. My eye is drawn to that because of the contrast of color between the red and the cyan/turquoise. Also, the wall is at an angle from the camera causing the lines in to fade off in the distance. I personally think shots like this are best when all lines in the shot are squared off. It makes for a somewhat boring composition, but is still visually pleasing to the eye. Also a square crop of the image may work. Also watch your levels and contrast, the blacks are looking crushed on the monitor I'm using. The shot may look better as a B&W.
