Hiya Roger!!! Are you back in Oz yet?? Been following your travels, pretty darn cool...
Yep - you'd probably recognise this old church from Wybong Road, I would so love to get myself in there :)
Thanks for your feedback :)

You got it :)
I dragged Steve out of the house at 6:30am to chase the fog last Saturday morning (which seemed to part in front of us, not matter where we went) and I wasn't going home empty handed (Steve would not of let me live it down)
Thanks for stopping by, Liz - always great to hear from you :)

Thankyou Mary :)
I agree with you - it's easy to get too close to your own photography and miss things that others can pick up - which makes the critique technique such a valuable tool...
I think that your points are relevant and I will take it all on board
Thanks again :)

I like the colours, the expanse of the scene, the golden reflections in the water, and the peaceful, serene mood they create. The panoramic view suits this well.
What would make it more appealing for me is a break from the horizontal lines. The small posts are not large enough to bring one's eye to the vertical. Perhaps, something like a lacey tree branch somewhere around the frame or some birds flying would add interest to your pretty scene.
I am certainly no expert in hotography or composition, so I can only go by what is appealing to me. But, I guess that is partly what people are looking for in the Critique Corner.

Thanks Dwight...
Thankyou and I agree with the idea that the pic doesn't need a title...
I appreciate your input - it is always so constructive...
Kind Regards

Kristen,
Wonderful abstract! I like the effect you've applied and I sure the kitty adored the attention. The only thing I would change would be not having the title in the frame area, as I feel it takes away from a very strong image that will stand fine on it's own merit. This would look lovely hung on a wall in a large print!
Your images are always a pleasure to view.
Regards, Dwight

Lovely model and a awesome composition! I love how this conveys the motion (movement of cape and arms) and at the same time you keep the eyes nice and sharp. Timing was everything making this shot work and I applaud you for doing it perfectly! The free space to the right of the model gives her a place to, go to. I have to say I've found another jewel in your portfolio with this image. 7++++
Regards, Dwight

Kristen, Hello my friend! This is totally cool, and you did a great job of nailing the exposure. I'm not quite sure just what the object is, (thinking a hedge, perhaps) but I really like the shapes and texture of this.
I don't do a lot of snow shots (living in Florida ;-) but the ones I have done I never got the snow looking as true to life as yours. Mine was always dirty looking!
Take care, Dwight

Hi Peter
Thanks!! This pic was a little tricky for me 'cause the church was in shadow and the setting sun blew out the background, so the B&W option was so much more flattering. It's all a learning curve, aye?
I appreciate you stopping by :)

Hiya Dwight!!
I love old churches too. They have so much character. I would have love to get inside this one and get some photographs - it has a certain something.
Great to see you again :)

Hi Kristen,

Great pic, love the monotones, shading and framing of the door, the pic makes me want to walk around the corner and see what is there.
Peter.

Kristen, I like this. The title says it all and the picture makes you feel that it's something from long ago that a lot of love went into but it has been all, but forgotten.
The composition, detail and the tone you choose to display this all work well together.
I love old churches and it's always sad to see them fall into disrepair.
Regards, Dwight

Hiya Dwight
Steve would love to hear you say that.
His Dad was a professional photographer in New Zealand so he knows how to strike a pose. And he thought all the photography thing was gone for him when his Dad passed away (but lo and behold - he meets me - possessed with my hobby - and it all starts over - the cycle of life and all that- LOL)
So great to hear from you :)
