yet another beautiful shot. i think what draws me to these is the wonderful muted color and vignetting that you added. it just created such a wonderful mood (i've actually started doing that to some of my shots and enjoy them ten times more.)
hope you don't mind my slew of comments!

really beautiful Gertrud! the colors are balanced and calm and the lighting perfect. i've noticed your images have gotten quite a bit of your own style over the past year or so. there's always such a great amount of emotion in them. excellent work.

thanks Marco.. i actually just picked up a roll of color from that same series (i can only develop the bw myself) and did a bunch with colored "hair" lights.. (sorry, i'm used to shooting people)

very cool image you've made.. the colors are fantastic and a very real image becomes almost surreal.

Thanks Ted, she has played with a number of groups over the years. She does mostly solo work on upscale cruise lines now. here's her website www.salima.biz

thanks Richard for the compliments on the site. i'm still trying to figure out how to make it easier to figure out that the drop down numbers are pictures in a series... seems that people mostly just click the dots and don't go to each image.

thanks george.. i really got lucky on that day.. a pretty consistant breeze and just overcast enough so it the shadows wouldn't be terribly strong. thanks for the kind words.

i think this is my favorite of the series.. you've created a calm mood and still retain some dynamic movement in the background with the swimmer moving. very nice color palette as well.

Thanks Richard.. i was pretty happy with the way the blacks turned out without detail.. here's a comparison of XP2 exposed correctly. i think i like the stronger contrast and deep black much better for this shot. Thanks again for your kind words.

thanks Luquésio! it's a crop of a wider view but since it's medium format i got enough resolution to successfully crop it tightly. i'm glad that you also get the feeling of intimacy with this crop.

thanks for the critique. the cropping of her head is intentional.. often, by just slightly cropping the top of the head, you achieve a much more intimate feel to the photo and it creates better balance.

i really like this.. the selective depth of field is soft and flowing. the composition works well because even though the flower as a whole has been centered, the true points of focus are everywhere but the center.
very nice work.
might want to trim off the bit of negative showing on the left side of the image.

it's a huge departure from your style up til now on here but i love it. the composition is perfect and the mood set by the colors is great. it also works wonderfully as an abstract or design work.

such a moody beautiful scene and nicely captured. i think it would benefit to mask out the USM on the upper right corner on the horizon as there is a considerable amount of haloing. other than that one nitpick this is really very wonderful.. the placement of the horizon is very dynamic and pleasing.

audra.. i love your look and your style. you would be a fantastic model to shoot, as well. i always look forward to seeing your next image. is this a neatimage result? it really is much more refined than its predecessor. very nice work

let me know when you start your camera shopping. i've been going through that for the past couple of years and now i find myself with 4 medium format cameras and a few 35's. i can at least help you with the pros and cons of each... as well as help you find good prices

very nice image.. crisp color reproduction and powerful pose. it's a bit soft but i think it's most likely the scan. the highlights on the top are also a bit blown out. i like the direction that your images are going.
