This is excellent photography. You have taken an interesting story and MADE it artistic. Notice how the attachmant without the people would be considered a very good landscape image by itself. Well captured!! (9

A beautiful capture. Cannot see why only a 6 rating here. Think I will give it a 9. Nice!

I agree, this is outstanding! The expressions on the girls faces are almost frightening. The beat up window frame gives this a unique atmosphere. Not sure the title does this one the justice it deserves though. Still, very well captured. (10

A very cute shot. The doggy is certainly cooperating on this one. B&W works very nicely here! (8

I like how you've composed this and the water drops for a little extra atmosphere. A little sharper would help....but we won't go there.(8

I agree with wanting to see Moms face also. Still, a nice capture...very sharp. Almost looks like a human baby.

Seems that most photographers have what we call their own signature type of images. I believe that this is yours. You like to do flowers and you do them extremely well. And fortunately the closeup images are not hurt that much by an average scanner. Nice colors, nice composition nice shot! (8

Hi Ashley,

This is a nice sunset capture! I particularly like how you cropped this one making it a panoramic. Look at the horizon carefully here. When I first started on this site, I learned that a lot of my horizons were tilted or crooked. See how this one tilts to the right?? I took it into Photoshop and straigtened it out for you. Then, I had to crop off some of the image (which will always be the case once you straighten the horizon) And, I also added 10 points of contrast to give this a little more pop. I hope you keep shooting and keep learning!!

P.S. Why not tell us about yourself on your Bio. page. It might help get others to comment even more. Take care!

Outstanding colors and beautifully composed. Sharpness is lacking a bit, but not too bad. A beautiful shot! (8

Composed nicely Petra. Lovely colors as well. This image appears to lack the sharpness that many of your others have....especially in the sand and rocks. Perhaps the scan?? Still is a nice image to look at and enjoy!

Outstanding colors and tack sharp as well. I agree that the police car seems not to belong, but in another way I think it adds something to this as well. Either way this is an excellent image!! (9

This is definitely interesting and unique. As long as it is fog and not smog, you will be okay!! Neat shot! (7

Very nice shot Sarah! Soft, cute and looking right at us. I am sure your friend would like this. One little tiny suggestion: The frame should not detract too much from the image. You want it to compliment rather than compete. Very interesting choice here. Nice shot once again!!

This is a great shot Heather!! The bench and lightpost have given this a nice mood or atmosphere. Love the clean snow too. Very nice!(8

Beautifully composed, with exceptional colors. The barn really works in this. I also like how you saved room for the piece of blue sky. The only knock is that the scan appears a bit soft. Otherwise fantastic! (8 ...would be even higher if sharper.

I do like the details in the rocks here. However, the rest of the image appears simply too bright. I would take out some density and then re-post. The composition is fine in my opinion. Good eye. (7

This is outstanding!! The crop and cloning take this into another level. You are no longer distracted by the road or sign. Now we simply enjoy the beauty of this so very excellent capture! (9

Absolutely! You are now drawn into the image and not the frame. I have learned this the hard way with our prints. Each image (over 100 now and counting) has to be matted in a color coordinated mat. I used to look at the mat, to see which looked better on the picture. Now, I look at the picture and try to find the mat that brings the MOST out of that image... confused?? because I sure am!! Does look better though. Thanks for the note.

Crop off the road on the right, clone out the sign...and WOW! This just needs a little help and would be fantastic. Still, nice as is. (8

A nice contrast in colors. The turquoise waters stand out nicely against the dark clouds. The white water is a bit hot, meaning there should be some detail in it. If it is in the original, then the problem is with the scan itself. If there is no detail in the original, then not much you can do about it. Still, a very nice capture! (8

This is very nice Sarah. Have you tried it with a black border...the red seems a bit strong. Also try the black with only 1 pixel of the white trim. Just a thought. I like the subtleness of this one...quite peaceful. Nice. (8
