It was pretty much spontaneous - she knew I had my camera - but we were chatting away, and she was experimenting putting her hair up - she wasn't actually posing.
I agree with cleaning the image up - this one hasn't been Photoshopped - in that everything you see was done in Adobe Camera RAW before it got as far as Photoshop - there are loads of neat things in the new version!

Oh, now where did that final line come from? Desperate call to UF for a comment editor Per-lease!

It's the sort of shot about which I don't really know what to say...

It looks spontaneous, but then the composition is so precise it may not be.

It looks unposed, but then you could hardly have just jumped in there and caught a shot like this. (Despite your claim! Could you?)

There're some little bits you might consider cleaning up (eg. just above the watch), and when you reshoot the final version you might find a way of losing those background reflections (eg. the lemon slice on the wall).

Sorry to be picky, but you know me... Actually, I like it - it's quite complex and rather good!

AJ

I'd hazard a guess that the expression is the giveaway.

Now that I can split tone the RAW images in Camera RAW - before I even get into Photoshop - it's a breeze!

A nice shot Sally! A woman just being a woman...making sure everything is in it's proper place. What is interesting is her left hand...have you ever noticed that when we are so intent on doing something with one hand, the other hand is in some weird contortion? Please thank your sister for being a great sport and allowing you to post her image.

The detail is impressive and the composition with the two flower balls on the left is striking. I know it would be cheating a bit, but I think that this would look great if that bit of stalk "disappeared" into the background...

Congrats to your first attempt.
I love these colors. The houses look a little mysterious by using this technique.
Hope to see soon your 2nd attempt :))

Unfortunately it's suffering from wind!
My present camera is not very IR sensitive - so the exposure was about 30 seconds long - which is why there is so much movement in the leaves - I'm wishing I hadn't given my D70 away now...

This is a great shot, love those brown tones on the foliage. Im a fan of infrared. The only thing im not so sure about is the big blurred out leaves in the centre of the pic just above the building, but on the whole... lovely stuff. :)
