Dear Alan,
I love the perspective of this picture and the curves the line of this picket fence makes both from the foreground to the background, and from the right to the left sides of the fence.
As for the magazine, I have never heard of it. I even thought there were no more Prakticas on the market. I bought mine thirthy years ago, can you imagine! It's still good, but I hope that soon it will become my second only camera. I've been saving money to buy a good digital camera at last and I am almost there. I figure, if all goes as planned, I'll have it by the beginning of summer for all the gorgeous flowers to shoot.
Wish me luck and thanks for the information. Diane

This one is also great and more spectacular with its contrasting sky and foreground. I wish I would be walking on this road!

Great composition with the lines : diagonals meeting & planes succeeding to one another. I also love the play of lights and the harmonious warm tones - green & gold alternating with patches of brownish red. The soft blueish hills of the background are a nice complement to this color theme.

Magnificent. I wish I had taken this picture myself.

Beautiful scene with great angle and textures. I like the contrasts between both the total white of the sky and the highlithted part of the left wall against the cooler and darker, yet detailed, right wall of these antcient ruins.

Outstanding! I love the background. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but, anyway, it is beautiful. I also like the overall blue tone of this scene.

Stunningly beautiful work. I especially like the orange and yellow diagonals going like an arrow from the right to the left sides of this picture, which are further emphazised by the one made by the relationship between the two lamp posts. I also like the powerfull contrast between the hot colors and the muted blue tones here, and this capture of a special time of the day is nicely enhanced by the dark areas against it.

This one id quite an improvement! I love the attitude of the sheep and the nice soft opposition of warm yellow-brown colors against cool blue ones.

Thank you for your nice comment about my picture.
As far as this one of yours is concerned, I love the point of view you chose to take this young boy ans his attitude.
From a technical standpoint, I know that film, specially color film, is unforgiving when the light range is too wide for its frustrating limitations. I feel it's a real pain and I can only commiserate with you since I am also stuck with this kind of medium AND the problems I have to face, in terms of sharpness too, when I want to turn prints into good digital image files for the Web.

Thank you very much for your appreciation of my latest picture, Nedim. As far as commenting each other's work is concerned, you have just beaten me to it. I went through your portfolio a few days ago and was meaning to let you know soon how much I like your still life pictures. Above all, I am impressed by the way you play with the light to enhance the natural beauty of your subjects.

Great composition, lighting and details, and subtle colors. But above all, it's the peaceful mood of this scene that makes it all.

I've just gone carefully through your beautiful portfolio. I don't know how you can do all that. There are such magnificent landscapes and cityscapes where you live and you do know how to make the best of them. Your "Automnal Mood" is my favourite. I don't know why : I just feel like throwing all these lines, curves and tonal values on a canvas of mine.

Never mind the way you went with PS between the original photo and this picture. The results are a marvel to the eye.

Beautiful composition and interplay of cool colors. The lighting and contrast are also magnificent and I like the details in the dark areas.

She is a darling and I like her being in colors while the background is in B&W.

This is a very good portrait. I would have liked to see the window a little further to the left though. Since the boy is standing to the right portion of the picture, maybe it could have been taken at an angle allowing the window to counterbalance more on the left side without actually going as close to the side of the picture as the boy is to the other side. In other words, a kind of non symetric balance...

We never see this place taken the way you did it. Totally original view and magnificent picture. Absolutely perfect (light, composition and all).

Great idea, but in my opinion, you have here a little problem with the composition. You should have moved a bit to the left so that the window would have been placed more on the right side of the picture. You should also have asked the old ladies outside to also move a bit to the left while remaining still in contact with the window frame (let's say under the window pane on the left side of the picture). You would have had then a center of interest that is not too centered, not too stuck in one big knot, and which would also have been balanced on both the upper right and lower left sides of the picture. Otherwise the lighting, the DOF and, above all, the human interest of this picture, are excellent. I hope it will help.

Yes, Mr. Agnoletti, this photo looks like a painting and it makes me desperately want to llay it on a canvas with brushes and mixes made out of colors coming from some paint tubes... And the fun I feel I would have in drawing all these lines and curves!

I am very touched by this photo and this poem, maybe because Colonel John McCrae was Canadian, as I am. I had been looking for this poem and now I will save it with your picture. Thanks.

Superb! I am just wondering why you cropped it so tight you lost the top of her veil.
