It's beautiful; it has that quality that I thought that only film could have. Soulful.

Visually, I see it as an abstract piece, with just the intense red and the deep shadows and blue strip on the bottom. Very intense.

Thank you Greg. Yeah, it's the bluest sky over there. Great place to shoot color work. Cheers,

Mark

I've tried to figure out what that H means, if anything. Help, heaven, hello, hubba hubba, how are ya. Help often comes too late here. Lots of people think it's like an amusement park until they get lost and the water runs out. It happens even in the milder deserts of the state. I'm sure they hear help a lot.

That's a pretty boat, and an even more beautiful place. This one's photographed in a photojournalistic style. Excellent work.

I got to this point, but had no more film! What I was doing was making 3D pairs with my Leica, so was using up film twice as fast. I will go back some day, God willing, and with a digital camera. Toy Cameras come too

The colors are intense, but very real! What I like about this place is it gets wet, but not for long. The land drinks it up quickly and it's dry again. Incredibly beautiful.

Truly, truly timeless. One feels very small there, but it's somehow life-affirming.

I have no idea where this city is, but it's well designed. Even more so photographically. Night photographs are pleasure to look at, and this is proof.

A classical approach; timeless as the mountains themselves. This gets back to the basics, the foundation, but with digital "film."

Hi Ann

Well if I could go there with you, I could tell you where it is; I reckon it's 400 yds. before you get to the end. But just print a copy of this, and ask the locals. Oh, mountain with the "H" is on the left side as you go in, and the crevice is on the right side. Don't get stuck!

Hi Ina

We hiked about 400 yards from the end of the trail. There's a crevice to the right....about 2 person width, and it narrows until it's barely 1 person's width. But when you turn around to get out, you can see the H. It's even more intriguing in 3 dimensions, and you're right it looks something like a temple. I like to think it's in Nepal. I never saw the owl, so thanks for opening my eyes to that. Now it's like an eagle. As far as style, I'm not aware of any unless people tell me what it's like. But I'm an eclectic in as many things as I can. These Leicas are awesome and I like using Kodachrome 64 with them. Thank you

Although these are AAA's we're talking about, the AA's they now make are now leak-proof. I'm not sure about AAA's being leak-proof. I'm glad I could be of help

.....the camera will still work w/o the lithium memory battery, but it won't remember the last frame number you shot, and the settings from last time (if i rmember correctly). I had the optional AA battery holders (which I sold on auction quickly) and they last a long time.

Ina, please don't remove the AAA's, or the lithium will be drained quickly. Even if the AAA's are almost dead, there's still enough current to assist the lithium memory battery. If your lithium needs to be replaced, all you need are some Phillips screwdrivers, the smallest, one at least #0. The lithium battery is still available.

So you still have your 7000? Just store it away with a couple satchels of silica gel and it'll be a collector's item soon. Mine's been sold long time ago so I could acquire some mechanical SRT's and an XE. I regret selling it, but oh well

With Sony? Great merger; their lenses are Carl Zeiss or Schneider Kreuznach. It would be nice if they made lens mounts for the manual & af, but it's highly unlikely and not a good biz move. I hope someone will always be making 35mm slr's and rf's...and if that's so, a standardized lens mount with adapters for the older mounts should be engineered. I never thought I'd see digital surpass film in terms of image quality and color range. I knew it would come, but so soon? Probably next year, or now, they have a ccd that matches 35mm film pixel for pixel.

They won't be making anymore? That's sad, really. They joined up with Konica for a while to make digitals. I collect old Minoltas, and right now the slr's aren't selling too well on that auction site, but to collectors, that can be a good thing.

Absolutely gorgeous. I'd try another shot with the base of the nearest post showing how it goes into the ground. Lovely pano format.
