this is a very nice shot! Great shades of gray and of course a great subject. I do feel that the composition is a bit static. I would have put the tree of center to the left a bit. Beautiful image though.

This is very cool. A perfect image for a distortion technique that is very hard to use I think.

What a beautiful shot. I love the colors and the drama. I could see this printed real big. You have a good eye. Regards, Derk

What a great shot. A struggling little tree far away from the big ones in the background. Add the bleak sky and the fog and one gets this great mood. Very nice composition with lots of tension. I love the toning. Regards, Derk

This is a very nicely balanced image. The light barn that has it's light shades picked up by the two cylinders off to the left. The larger trees on the top AND the bottom, contrasting with the small orange trees. The bare grass at the top left and the bare area in the middle right. My eye does not get stuck on one particular detail. Very nice. I don't care about the large black border. It does not need to be there. Regards, Derk

The first look at this image was a little bit confusing until I figured out the perspective. It would have been very effective if you would have shown more of the hight instead of having to explain it. Technically it is a very nice shot. Great color and sharpness.

This is a very nice shot. It has great emotional value. Just a suggestion, maybe increase the contrast a bit. It would give the image a bit more punch even though the way you have it now gives the feeling of a very bright and sunny day. There is no right or wrong here but whatever pleases the eye. Especially your eye!

This is a very nice shot Jason. Good tones and focus. It is a bit static in the composition. Maybe try to crop a bit of the left. This will put the face a bit off center and make it a bit more dynamic. Again, it is a very good shot.

A very beautiful shot and great B/W. Perfect timing. Can't ever catch this moment again.
A small thing though, the copytight thing is a bit overwhelming. Sorry.:)

Great use of what appears to be photoshop to convert your color shot into B/W. I know that it is not as straight forward as it looks. great shot.

Stephen, I wish that this shot had more drama though either exposure, composition, lighting or cropping. You might want to try to do more with this shot. Maybe B/W or sepia, or make it darker. What do you think.
Regards, Derk:)

Nice IR shot Sandra. I feel though that the Left side is very bright and makes your eye pull in that direction to much. I also think that it is hiding to much of the light house. But, maybe that was part of the idea. Nevertheless, it is always good to see the experimentation with IR.
Regards, Derk:)

The average person would compose the boat in the foreground, while here there is nothing there. Also, the buoy and the boat are almost falling off the picture. So, there is nothing average about this shot. The composition was pushed to the limit.
This is just my humble view of this image though.
I love this shot.

Derk

Thank you for your constructive comment, Marcelo. After going back and forth about the bottom line i decided theat it was an important part of the composition.
