The image is rather flat looking. In other words it needs more contrast to give it a bit more bang. I took the liberty of making some adjustments with the levels and curve commands and IMHO this looks better.

What a cutie! In my opinion it is a bit to grainy, I don't know if you did that on purpose, but I know it just happens sometimes... and that adorable expression goes beyond any imperfections! You captured a great moment here, I love it!! :)
