Calin,
thanks, I appreciate the thoughtful comments. as for the crop, i shot it this way because my intent was to create something not as centered on the subject herself, but more for a mix of her, and the forms created by the hair and the stripes with the landscape. i think a looser crop would greatly reduce the emphasis on the shapes and forms, and be more focused on just a person. i appreciate the good comments though. thanks.

nice work here. the lake has a very charming and soft/relaxing sense to it. it's nice to see you shooting in a variety of styles and manners, experimental. keep it up.

very nice work here. the skin textures are nice and the controlled exposure and contrast allow this. you don't have large bleached areas. when you talk about editing, it seems your focus is more on after the fact. you're producing nice work, so i think the focus should not be on the edit, but on the original shot, as if it were a negative. focus on the original and how to correct it and then editing will be unnecesary or very easy. nice job here.

Great radiating, almost pulsating sense of contrast here. the lines have very a very strong dominance here. nice work.

Lara, thanks for the comments. I like the perpective here and the composition. I generally prefer high conrtrast images, but here I think you have lost a lot of details in the large white highlights. This may be partially due to the jpeg format, but if you could burn down the exposure in their just a little, i think the added detail and softening of the white would add a lot. very nice composition and perspective though.

thanks, i appreciate the comments. after studying photography i began seeing things around me in a different sense, a new perspective. often as black and white, just values and tones, other times as angles and colors. its nice when you realize the world around us is full of beauty, often with simple forms and light.

Calin, nice work here. I like the abstract qualities of the light and dark spaces. Interesting use of shadow play.

another very strong work here. great exposure and dark overall values to promote this idea of pain and suffering. nice use of perpective and the horizontal composition works well.

nice perspective here and the enlarging of the iron into a ship works well. it really seems to dominate the plane and be a large, powerful object. nice details and textures also.

nice work here. in your portfolio i see you use color hues very effectively. often single or subtle colors, which works well with your images. strong image here.

nice work here. looking at your portfolio, i see this as one of your stronger compositions and end results. the isolated subject and lighting to accompany this have a nice effect. good job.

the infared really gives this a creapy and different type of sense to it. very interesting work. it has a surrealistic and abstract sense to it also. nice job.

excellent capture of skin tones and textures, especially on the hand on the right. compositionally, the top right is a little open, but the textures and tones on the hands fulfill this gap. nice work.

very strong feeling of isolation here. the simplified composition gives it an abstract sense, enhanced with the green hues. nice job here and welcome to usefilm.

Sam, your recent posts have been great, and keep building in the content level. this is really nice here, full of emotional aggression, perseverance, anger, something. the horizontal lines do a lot for the composition and pushing this idea of movement with the feelings.
