Wow, excellent capture! First I thought the plane was about to land because its hook was ready, and the flaps are all way in. Infact it was a bogey and he had to prepare the approach procedure again.. Amazing!

Nice but blurred... now that I read ur full comment I appreciate it even more hehe. But a flash would have detracted from the mood. I think it is all good... but I think the blurr of the aircraft itself is just bad focus, not motion blur (I might be wrong though)... which could have been fixed.

Awsome colours and so called "crepuscular" rays(ya I know the terms only reffers to morning sites). Very nice tones...Most of the time one would try to avoid the redish nuance from sodium and tungsten lights but this just works!

I REALLY like this one... quite impressive. An example when nature shows its size, and humans yet controll it.
Technically great as well.. if I was to point something out ... I might have wanted to see more of the picture (a wider lens...).

You'd probably do best to set your camera on infinity focus so you don't have to worry about it struggling to do so under such low light.

Thanks SM2, I just meant that about using the flash for focusing better. Its such a dark place on the flightdeck at night. Normally when I am up there, I have to take about 30 or 40 shots to get the exposure and focus right. As for this ship, we have 3500 people on here at a time. And I can tell when there is someone new.

Still a great shot, Les! Besides, the flash wouldn't have worked from the distance you are...they're only effective for about 15 feet. (I always smile when I see people using their flash from 50 feet away at events).
I was on a much smaller ship. Small enough that I knew ALL 405 crew members.
4 years was quite enough for me.

Excellent shot, but you should heed the 'rule of thirds', which would place the sun higher or lower, depending on whether you want to emphasise water or sky. Placing your subject dead center makes a shot less interesting to the eye.
Here's a good explanation: http://www.silverlight.co.uk/tutorials/compose_expose/third s.html
Hope this helps, Paul

I would like to thank you and George both for your comments. I am glad that I found a place (this website) that can allow me to give others an opportunity to see what I have, and discover what they see in them. Until I was there, I never knew the vastness of the ocean. It can be pretty amazing sometimes.
