Dave: We had never seen them except singly or in the company of Red-Winged Blackbirds previously. It was such a neat thing to have them come through just as we were leaving. Thanks for your comments.

Joe: Great capture! We have a couple of these little guys hanging around right now here in the Colorado mountains. We had a whole flock during the winter but no more than six or so right now. Thanks for your comments on my blackbirds, I do appreciate them.

Bill: Apparently they do occasionally get up to MI. They generally are seen in the southern midwest and points south. We don't get them in CO that much either. Occasional only. Thanks a lot for your comments.

Dave: The birds in AZ were all very much into the spring breeding rituals. We watched Road Runners getting together but it was too dark to photograph, unfortunately. Thanks for the generous comments.

Dave: I think I may have to get a Fuji just so I can carry it around like you do. The lens I have works well with a monopod, otherwise I sag a bit when trying to shoot with it. Thanks for your comments.

Jim: He was fairly calm about my watching him although I had to wait for a few minutes standing very still to entice him in. The 500 works exceedingly well with the teleconverters from Canon. Thank you again for your gracious remarks.

Dave: These little guys would all fly away each time someone came near. I had to stand and hold the 11 lbs. of camera and lens for quite a while to capture him. I was wishing for your Fuji after a while.

Yamil, The very red area in front of the eye is not that common and only happens for a week or two each season. Nice Shot! Love the pose. Snow Egrets are very entertaining birds. Thank you for your comment on my Great Egret photoart. We are looking forward to seeing your beautiful native country.
