The lighting is warm and pleasant in the display and certainly reveals good detail and texture on the turtle, Dave.

Great shot Dave. We have several of these (and the yellow-eared cousins). This is a very cool photograph of a red-eared slider. Many places have now classified this animal as an invasive species because they are often kept as pets . . . and escaped and/or released animals like these sliders adapt VERY well . . .

Your shot has a great, classic even, pose. Periodically, they stretch like this to sun bathe . . . as this (female?) appears to be doing. Males and females are most easily distinguished by claw length and tails . . . You managed to capture this gal in her natural habitat which I always feel gives a big plus to the composition.

Impressive work my friend!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

I like the angle you used to show of the variety of colors you would have missed if filming from above. Very well composed. Welcome back. Del.

What fabulous markings they have! I do believe these are classed as feral here in australia, since a few have escaped from captivity. Shame, really, but I guess we do have a fragile eco system. Thanks for sharing, Davd
Thanks also for your comment on my jetty photo.
Cheers

Oh fantastic Dave!

Looked after 3 of these guys for an old friend once... named them 'tic, tac & toe'... always thought they had a rather magestic quality to them (maybe it's an age thing! lol).. anyway, the pose of this fellow here really brings that quality out.

Gorgeous photo.. clarity & colour spot on.. love the way the light is catching him & the background is a perfect compliment :)

Hope you are well x
